JOHN CLEESE SIGNS TO STAR IN "THE SHOOT"

British funny man John Cleese has signed on to star in a local film called The Shoot. Produced by Jigsaw Entertainment, the comedy is written by Josh Goldin and Bruce Hancock. Inside Film magazine reports that Cleese was impressed with the script and concept: "It gives me a different kind of character from the ones I've traditionally played, plus the chance to work with a couple of old friends," Cleese told them. "And shooting in Australia is a huge plus. I'm told it's God's own country, and five visits there have given me no reason to disagree. So, watch out, Queensland muddies!" The film is to be produced mid-next year.
