MEMBERS OF MONTY PYTHON COLLABORATING ON ONE
FINAL BOOK
In early anticipation of Monty Python's 35th anniversary, Orion Publishing Group will be publishing a new coffee table book next year called Monty Python by the Pythons. The book will be written and produced by all of the Pythons, including the Estate of Graham Chapman. This is the last book the Pythons will collaborate on, Orion says. The book has been three years in the making and is expected to go into worldwide circulation on September 24, 2003. It will retail for approximately £40 ($60 U.S.), according to Orion Publishing's fact sheet. The book promises to be an amazing production with over 1000 photographs. It is intended to be a lavish piece of work to match what the Beatles did when they wrote their own story in 2000's The Beatles Anthology. For the first time, all surviving members of Monty Python have agreed to create the definitive story of Monty Python's Flying Circus and the 'geniuses' who created it. The book will be art-directed by Terry Gilliam and all the Pythons will give complete access to unseen personal material. Some never-before-seen Gilliam artwork may be included. The complete the "coffee table" book, Monty Python by the Pythons will also come with limited edition snap on coffee table legs as well as cups, saucers, plates, and a unique Python 'foot vase.'
