Terry Gilliam's Tideland gets its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (September 8-17) September 9

Terry Gilliam's Tideland, shot last year in Canada's Qu'Appelle Valley and Regina (Saskatchewan) will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 9.

Terry wrote to say “I have just finished tidying up the film this week and am overly pleased with the result and curious to see how long and far the fall will be... it invariably follows this feeling of pride.”

The Toronto International Film Festival runs September 8 through 17. The TIFF website has information on how to obtain tickets to the various films and events.

An adaptation of a classic cult novel by Mitch Cullin, the film stars Jodelle Ferland as Jeliza-Rose, a girl who escapes the harsh reality of her life by inventing a fantasy world.

The cast of the U.K.-Canada co-production also includes Janet McTeer, Brendan Fletcher, Jeff Bridges and Jennifer Tilly.
