November 7th marked the release of a new book Dreams and Nightmares: Terry Gilliam, 'The Brothers Grimm' and Other Cautionary Tales of Hollywood written by long-time Gilliam and Python chronicler Bob McCabe. The extremely frank account of the filming of Brothers Grimm is based on the personal diaries of Terry Gilliam and Nicola Peccorini (Director of Photography).

Author Bob McCabe (escorted from the set three weeks before wrapping) follows the pre-production nightmares, the horrors of filming in an artificial forest in Prague, and the anarchy of post-production, seeking to unravel the truth buried between the lines of the diaries.

“It's jam-packed with Guy Dyas's designs, Nicola Pecorini's diary, Nikki Clapp's daily production notes and other assorted dark and twisted ephemera from our roller-coaster ride in Prague,” Gilliam told PythOnline.

“And to reassure everyone that this isn't greedy, money-making self-promotion...” Gilliam went on to say, “no matter how many people buy copies of the book, I don't make a penny....much like the film itself.”
