The cast recording of Monty Python's Spamalot has been nominated for a Grammy Award

The Grammys were announced on December 8th by The Recording Academy at Gotham Hall in New York City. In the category of Best Musical Show Album, Monty Python's Spamalot received one of the five nominations. The album is up against the soundtrack of three other musicals that, like Spamalot, were nominated for Best Musical at this year's Tony Awards.

  • Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
  • Hair
  • The Light in the Piazza
  • Monty Python’s Spamalot
  • The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

The December 8th nomination event was attended by national and international media, as well as key music industry executives. The 48th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on Wednesday, February 8, at Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live on CBS from 8 – 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT).
